Founded

Founded and led by César Lesage, CL Corporate Affairs engages in particular on reputational risk issues facing organisations operating in sensitive sectors, helping them in better adapting their strategy in the face of sometimes brutal and unpredictable shifts in their political, regulatory and social environment that may call into question the very fundamentals of their own legitimacy.

CL Corporate Affairs specifically supports organisations in their institutional and political relations, thereby ensuring:

  1. the strengthening of their visibility;
  2. the enhancement of their expertise;
  3. the consolidation of their credibility;
  4. the building and development of their influence.

This support is structured around two operational forms, enabling clients to better defend their interests, protect their reputation and adapt, preserve or develop their business model:

  • Acting in an advisory capacity, to assist its clients in their outreach, scheduling of meetings and exchanges with supranational, state and local institutions and authorities, in order to build established and trusted relationships with key decision-makers.
  • Offering to represent them in a structured and long-term manner, as their agent, subject to compatibility with the professional and legal obligations specific to each. CL Corporate Affairs then takes full charge, on behalf of and alongside its clients, of regular as well as ad hoc interactions with the key stakeholders of their ecosystem (political, administrative and social actors, or interprofessional organisations), both at the European level and in France, thereby carrying out all or part of the activities associated with the functions of a public affairs officer or institutional relations manager.

An innovative methodology

Public Affairs 4.0.

Compass is an in-house proprietary political intelligence platform, designed to better organise the collection of publicly available, relevant data, and to streamline the tools that enhance its clients' public and institutional engagement.

By modernising the practice of public affairs through the measured use of artificial intelligence and digital structuring functionalities, the platform enables the tracking of legislative files and the anticipation of upcoming legislative steps, through a dedicated algorithm. It helps the practitioner identify the stakeholders who matter most, and analyse their positioning and influence, through modern, GDPR-compliant mapping tools.

CL Corporate Affairs is one of the only players in public affairs and institutional relations consulting to design and develop the digital tools indispensable to its practice.

In addition to Compass's own algorithms, artificial intelligence improves and enriches the analysis: it facilitates the impact assessment of every element of a legislative text, it assists in drafting amendments, it refines the positioning of interested parties, and it suggests impactful talking points designed to reach out to and engage them, prioritising those whose mobilisation matters most.

Compass Political Intelligence Platform is also intended to serve every actor in the institutional and government relations ecosystem, in strict compliance with the ethical rules of the profession, and subject to compatibility with the consultancy's and its clients' professional engagements. The confidentiality of its users' data — both vis-à-vis CL Corporate Affairs and any third party — is guaranteed by a contractual commitment, reinforced by end-to-end encryption that each user can activate.
